The audition comes to your inbox. It seems so obvious what they're looking for. How do you differentiate yourself? What's too safe and what's too far?
Stereotypes generally don't get cast. For you as an actor, the answer of “what to do” often lies in asking the right questions. What's not in the spec? Why is this character interesting? How do I make it believable and not a caricature?
We're going to take you to boundary edges and explore the nuances that are the difference between a perfectly nice audition and something that makes casting directors sit up and say “that's our actor.” You must come prepared to work and to be pushed, as well as to offer thoughtful, constructive feedback as well as take it. Because the work you put in here when you have an audience will serve you well when you're alone in your booth.
This will be limited to 12 actors and will be two intensive, full days. If you're ready to go for the bigger projects, the more visible roles, and the memorable characters, come join me.
