AAA video game Performance and Casting Directors Gillian Brashear and Randall Ryan from HamsterBall Studios will impart their innovative techniques to create characters that are believed and cared about, and more importantly, that book. Plus, we’ll put your character through the Gauntlet of a simulated video game recording session.
Decode audition briefs to give more captivating performances
Create truly original, memorable characters
Live through your characters while performing a real video game script
Two days of instruction to show you how to truly own your characters, how to understand what’s important in an audition (and what you can ignore), and remove the limits so you can not only book more gigs, but be on short lists to re-book. Then jump to the gig and perform as your character in a simulated game session.
DAY 1: Actors will choose a character of theirs that they wish to hone, and will come with a prepared audition based on a script we’ve sent out ahead of time. This is the starting point from where we’ll start decoding and breaking the audition process down. The rest of the day will be hands-on performances and deeper character work to prepare for the game recording session.
DAY 2: The actors will have prepped overnight on a full script tailored to their character and will be directed through a simulated game session just as if they booked the job and showed up at the studio to record.
This is a full-on intensive where you will work your acting craft in unimaginable ways. Be prepared to sweat, cry, and laugh, and have your game changed for good.
